Arrange the dashboards

In the Dashboard you decide which blocks to see, in what order and how big, and you can have several dashboards for different uses, for example Night shift or Maintenance. This article explains how to create and manage dashboards, how to arrange their blocks and how to set up each block.

Create and manage dashboards

Choose the dashboard in the Dashboard list and use the ☰ button (Dashboard options):

  • Save as…: creates a copy of the current dashboard, with the same blocks and their settings, and switches to it.
  • New dashboard: creates a dashboard with the default blocks of the Main dashboard and switches to it.
  • Rename: changes the name of the current dashboard, including Main.
  • Back to the default: replaces the blocks of the current dashboard with the default ones. It does not ask for confirmation; you can undo it with Undo.
  • Delete dashboard: asks for confirmation (Delete the dashboard “…”? This cannot be undone.) and then shows the first dashboard of the list. The default dashboard cannot be deleted.

When you create, copy or rename, type the name in Dashboard name (required, up to 60 characters) and click Save.

Arrange the blocks

  1. Click Arrange. Add block, Cancel and Save appear, and each block shows its controls.
  2. To move a block, drag it by the arrows handle next to its title. Near the edge of the window the page scrolls by itself. With the keyboard, the arrow keys move it before or after.
  3. To change the width, drag its right edge or use Width with − and +. The page has 12 columns and a block takes 3 to 12; some have a larger minimum: Now 6, Map and Your customers 4.
  4. To change the height, drag its bottom edge or use Height with − and +. The height belongs to the whole row, so the blocks of a row stay aligned, between 160 and 1400 px. Automatic height brings it back to the normal height.
  5. To add a block, click Add block (see below). To remove it, use Remove on its bar.
  6. Click Save. You will see Dashboard changes saved.

Cancel leaves the dashboard as it was: if you made changes, it asks Discard the changes you made while arranging the dashboard? with Keep arranging and Discard changes. If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, the browser asks you to confirm.

Add a block

Add block opens Add a block, the catalog of the 38 blocks sorted by category: Fleet status, Alerts, Movement, Driving, Use of the day, Since you opened the dashboard, Sensors, Maintenance and Account. Each block shows its description and, if it is already on the dashboard, how many times. Click Add: the block is added at the end, the page scrolls down to it and highlights it.

You can add the same block several times with different settings, for example two speeding blocks with different limits.

Set up a block

In the ⋯ menu of a block choose Settings. The dialog has:

  • Block title: empty uses the automatic title, which changes with the settings.
  • Group: The dashboard’s follows the filter at the top; Whole account or a group fix what the block shows whatever the filter is. A block with its own group has a green label with the name of the group.
  • The block's own options, such as the speed limit or the minimum time. Distances, speeds and temperatures use the units of your account.
  • Order, in blocks with a list: the criterion and Highest first or Lowest first.

Click Apply. Default values brings the form back to the factory values, which are saved when you apply.

The ⋯ menu also has Duplicate, which puts a copy right after, and Remove, which asks for confirmation. The ↓/↑ button of the header changes the order of the list. Outside Arrange, these changes are saved right away.

Undo a change

Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac), or the Undo button of the message that shows for a few seconds, undoes the last change of blocks: add, remove, duplicate, move, change the size, the order or the settings, or go back to the default. It keeps up to 50 changes while the page is open. Creating, renaming, choosing or deleting a dashboard is not undone.

Limits

  • Up to 50 dashboards per user, counting the default one. When you reach the maximum, Save as… and New dashboard are disabled.
  • Up to 100 blocks per dashboard. With 100, Add block and Duplicate are disabled.
  • Dashboard name of up to 60 characters.
  • On narrow screens the blocks take the full width: the width and height are changed with the − and + buttons, and they are kept for large screens.
  • In the demo the dashboards are examples and cannot be arranged.
