Professional trackers can send several positions in a single packet, especially when they accumulate information or report routes at short intervals. This update enables Secure GPS to make better use of those transmissions from Teltonika devices and improves numeric configuration for GPS alerts.
The result is a more complete history for compatible equipment and clearer alert parameters for conditions such as speed, fuel, offline time, mileage, RPM, inactivity, and sensor values.
Several Teltonika locations in one packet
Teltonika devices can include a record counter and transmit several locations within one frame. Each record may contain time, coordinates, altitude, heading, speed, satellites, priority, and input or sensor data, depending on the model and its configuration.
Secure GPS now goes through every declared record, creates an independent position for each valid data set, and saves the complete batch before responding to the tracker. The acknowledgment indicates the number of processed locations, following the flow expected by the equipment.
This improvement prevents a transmission with several points from being represented by only one position. It also preserves the time order reported by the device and makes every record available to compatible tracking functions.
More complete GPS history after coverage returns
When a vehicle travels through an area without mobile signal, some trackers store positions and transmit them when the connection returns. If several locations arrive in the same packet, Secure GPS can add them to history with the time reported by the equipment.
For a transportation company, this helps reconstruct a rural or underground segment. For a delivery operation, it supports reviewing stops recorded during an interruption. For an installer, it helps confirm that the device's storage and forwarding mode works as expected.
Accumulated positions do not become live locations: Secure GPS preserves their original time. Users can distinguish the latest current position from earlier points that arrived later.
Teltonika data that can complement a position
In addition to latitude and longitude, some models may report speed, mileage, ignition, mobile signal, voltage, temperature, fuel, RPM, digital inputs, RFID, and driving events. Secure GPS interprets compatible identifiers and keeps other available values as attributes for analysis.
The specific information depends on the model, connected accessories, and tracker configuration. Receiving several positions does not mean that every sensor is present; each record reflects only what the equipment transmitted.
Before a large installation, coordinates, dates, units, sensors, and the number of recognized records should be validated. This test confirms that the device, its version, and its reporting profile are appropriate for the operation.
GPS alerts with non-negative integer values
Many Secure GPS alerts use a threshold: maximum speed, minutes offline, minimum fuel level, traveled mileage, RPM, inactivity time, or an attribute value. These quantities represent values equal to or greater than zero.
We updated the corresponding parameters to use unsigned integers, meaning complete non-negative numbers. This prevents impossible settings such as negative minutes or percentages and provides consistent validation before an alert is saved.
The improvement also applies to “greater than” and “less than” attribute comparisons, including numeric references or hexadecimal values when a device transmits that type of data.
Alert examples for a fleet operation
A manager can configure a speeding alert with the limit permitted by the operation, receive a notice when a tracker remains offline for a defined number of minutes, or monitor fuel below a selected percentage.
Mileage can also support maintenance scheduling, RPM can identify conditions that require analysis, inactivity time can reveal prolonged stops, and sensor attributes can monitor specialized equipment.
An alert is evaluated only when Secure GPS receives the corresponding data. If a tracker does not report fuel, RPM, or a particular attribute, defining a threshold does not create that information. Hardware compatibility and correct installation remain essential.
Combined application in a real operation
A truck with a Teltonika tracker may store several positions during a loss of coverage and send them together later. Secure GPS retains those points in the route and evaluates available conditions for each record. A supervisor can review the trip and understand whether high speed, prolonged inactivity, or a relevant sensor change occurred.
In cold-chain operations, multiple positions may be accompanied by compatible temperature readings; in machinery, by RPM or inputs; and in distribution, by fuel or mileage. Alerts help focus attention on values that exceed the limits defined by the company.
